      TWO HUMPS OR ONE HUMPS!! Camels have lived in the deserts for more than 3,000 years. Camels are mammals. They have long legs. They have a big lipped snout and a humped back. There are two types of camels- Bactrian camel and Dromedary camel.                                                             Bactrian Camel :-  Bactrian Camel has two humps. They are generally found in the deserts of Mongolia and China. A small population of Bactrian camels exists in the Nubra valley of Ladakh (J&K) and some areas of southwest Kazakhstan.  Dromedary Camel :-  Dromedary Camel or Arabian camel has one hump. This camel is common to North Africa and Middle East. The hump of a camel does not contain water as most people think! The hump contains fat. This fat gets broken down to get energy when the food is scarce. If the fat inside the camel’s hump is consumed, it will shrink, flop over, and hang at the camel’s side.
